Martin Fierro, Director

Martin Fierro currently serves as Director of Instrumental Music at Mt. Carmel High School where his responsibilities include teaching Marching Band, conducting two concert bands and orchestra. Prior to Mt Carmel he was the Associate Director of Music at Westview High School from 2017-2022. Mr. Fierro completed his student teaching at Mount Carmel High School and served as Assistant Director of Instrumental Music at Point Loma High School.

Prior to becoming a teacher, Mr. Fierro gained extensive teaching experience serving as percussion instructor at Redwood High School, saxophone instructor at Mission Bay Montessori Academy and as a staff member for the San Diego Summer Music Institute. Martin has a Bachelor of Music Education from San Diego State University and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Music. Martin performs as a local freelance professional musician on both bassoon and saxophone.
 

As a teacher and performer, Martin aims to provide his students and audience with an enriching musical experience. Martin has studied saxophone with Dr. Todd Rewoldt and conducting with Dr. Shannon Kitelinger.
